How our one-to-one Employability coaches can help

Our scholars have identified to us a specific need for Employability coaches to support them to progress onto successful careers after graduation. We work with professionals from a range of sectors to offer Employability advice to all. Alongside traditional mentoring support, short-term pairings with our Employability advisors can boost confidence and fine-tune plans to prepare scholars for the process that leads into graduate employment

What’s on offer

Our advisors provide tailored support for each scholar who is close to graduating and applying for jobs. That can include: CV writing; handling disclosure; interview skills; confidence; self-presentation; job searching techniques; written/verbal communication skills; networking; career pathway advice; and building an online presence

Pooling experience

Longford Scholar, Kyle, a recent graduate, is working closely with Sophie L, one of our trained, volunteer Employability advisers, as he makes the transition from university into full-time employment in the digital industry.“I’ve really enjoyed connecting with Kyle,” she says, “and learning about his journey. It’s so rewarding to be able to pass on all the information and advice I’ve been given to help him achieve his career goals.”
