Could Your School Be One Of Our Partners?
Each year, the Longford Trust works with one secondary school, usually from within the M25 radius, engaging its older pupils in the subject of prison reform (as above, with pupils from Sacred Heart High School meeting Baroness Hale, our 2005 Lecturer). After an initial visit to the school in spring by a Longford Trust patron, the office team and Longford Scholars, the pupils design the promotional materials for that year’s Longford Lecture, attend the event where they help out with ushering, and meet the speaker to discuss issues raised in the lecture.
Woodhouse Sixth Form College
Our 2022 Schools’ Partner is Woodhouse College in north Finchley. On June 16, two of our current award-holders, Warren (pictured right, on the far left) and Kyle (far right) accompanied our team, including director Peter Stanford (centre right) to discuss prison reform with a lively group of sixth formers who will help us in the build-up to the next lecture. Woodhouse students will be attending, along with principal Sugra Alibhai (centre left).
