Could Your School Be One Of Our Partners?
Each year, the Longford Trust works with one secondary school, usually from within the M25 radius, engaging its older pupils in the subject of prison reform (as above, with pupils from Sacred Heart High School meeting Baroness Hale, our 2005 Lecturer). After an initial visit to the school in spring by a Longford Trust patron, the office team and Longford Scholars, the pupils design the promotional materials for that year’s Longford Lecture, attend the event where they help out with ushering, and meet the speaker to discuss issues raised in the lecture.
Clapton Girls Academy
The Longford Trust’s 2019 partner is Clapton Girls Academy in east London. On September 13, the actor, comedian, Great British Bake Off presenter and trust supporter, Mel Giedroyc (pictured right with two of the sixth formers), launched the partnership at the school assembly, accompanied by two current Longford Scholars.
